Here is our take on the Aussie meat pie and wedges.
Our wedges were sprinkled with our Snowy River Black Garlic Salt and the pies were made using the following recipe and accompanied with our homemade tomato chutney.
Snowy River Black Garlic Beef Pie Recipe
500g Stewing steak diced
1 large onion diced
6 short cut bacon rashers chopped
200g mushrooms sliced
5 tbsp oil
½ cup red wine
3 cups beef stock
3 cloves black garlic diced
2 tbsp fresh tyme
Salt and pepper to taste
Place onion, bacon and mushrooms in a saucepan with 2 tbsp oil and cook until softened, remove from heat.
Coat Stewing beef in flour.
2 tbsp fresh thyme oil in a large saucepan, add beef and cook until brown. Add onion mixture, black garlic and thyme cooking for 1 minute.
Add red wine and deglaze the pan then add beef stock and bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer for 2 hours until tender.
Add to some puff or shortcrust pastry, cook until golden to create your own amazing pies!
